How Berkeley Can You Be? Has Been Canceled

Friday, July 31st, 2009

The East Bay Express is reporting that How Berkeley Can You Be?, a unique parade and event that celebrates the eccentricities of Berkeley, CA, had been canceled. The event was started in 1996 by John Solomon and in 1999 the ArtCar Fest joined in as part of the event. This year they had to pull the plug due to financial reasons and lack of support from the City of Berkeley, but they hope to return in 1010.

DoggieLoveDoll, The World’s First Sex Doll For Dogs

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

PetSmiling recently announced the DoggieLoveDoll, the world’s first sex doll for dogs.

You may know or have probably heard about these dolls for men that are very popular in Sex Shops around the world. There are inflatable ones, full-body, silicone, as well as other models. So now the first doll for dogs has been launched in Brazil. That’s right, a doll for dogs to practice safe sex. The majority of non-neutered dogs spend a good chunk of time looking for something to hump. They try pillows, furry creatures, people’s legs and even other animals.

Trailer for Ghost Busters (1954)

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

whoiseyevan imagines what Ghost Busters would have been like if made in 1954.

What if…Ghostbusters, the movie, was shot in 1954 instead of 1984? Who should be part of the cast? Would they have the same equipment? Who would they battle? Considering Dan Aykroyd’s concept owes a lot to Bob Hope, Abbott and Costello, and Lewis and Martin comedies of the 40s and 50s, it is not that big of a stretch to speculate.

Blame Drew's Cancer

On May 20th, 2009 my friend Drew Olanoff was diagnosed with cancer (stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma), since then he’s been having his friends blame anything and everything on his cancer through his website Blame Drew’s Cancer.

Next Wednesday, August 5th Drew is hosting a BlameDrewsCancer Blowout at the Dragon Bar in San Francisco. The event is a benefit for Livestrong, a foundation created by Lance Armstrong to help fight cancer.

If you can’t make the benefit, but would like to contribute, donations can be made through the BlameDrewsCancer sponsor page on Livestrong.
