A Roadmap to the Bay Area’s Highways in the Sky

Friday, October 31st, 2008

guest post by Todd Lappin (Telstar Logistics)

Roadmap to the Highways of the Sky

This is a clean version of an illuminating FAA graphic I saw recently on the wall at Moffett Federal Airfield down in Mountain View. It’s a guide to the air traffic routes used at airports around the San Francisco Bay Area — a roadmap of the highways in our skies.

I love it because it explains the patterns behind the air traffic I see jetting over San Francisco every day. It all seems kind of random from the ground, but thanks to this route plan, the flight paths now make a lot more sense.

This second graphic shows the southeast routes the jets use when the winds get funky:

1Password, Manage & Sync Passwords on a Mac & iPhone

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

I’ve been using 1Password by Agile Web Solutions for a while now and it is by far the best Mac program I have ever used to manage website passwords. It integrates with all major browsers using a great autofill feature, eliminating the need for cut-and-paste.

I also use to securely sync passwords between Macs using Dropbox as well as manage website passwords on my iPhone using their new iPhone App. It also includes features for credit card management, anti-phishing and password generation.
